Hello, I’m Karen.
I’m a Creative Systemic Counsellor, combining different types of counselling, such as solution-focused, mindfulness or creative exploration so that sessions best fit each person. My creative approach helps people explore difficulties and opportunities for change in a way that works for them.
I listen with empathy and without judgement. where we explore and reflect on the thoughts, feelings, and challenges you are experiencing. We can also look at relationships with yourself and other people in your life which may be impacting you. I help to identify patterns and behaviours within relationships and help you to discover your strengths and resilience.
Events or relationships can feel overwhelming, difficulties can be hard to overcome, or we can feel a loss of direction or purpose. For example, you could be having difficulty with a relationship, living with anxious thoughts, mood swings or depression, bereavement or loss, feeling unable to cope with a situation, loneliness, or stress. Together we can explore your situation in a way that can make it easier to understand. It may help you to understand yourself better, too.
My core values are honesty, trust, loyalty and kindness, mutual respect and creativity, and I bring these values to my counselling. I value each person that comes to counselling, acknowledging that everyone is an individual with different needs and values.
I know and believe, in the difference that counselling can make in people’s lives. I also believe in helping people find the difference that makes a difference.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking my dog, being with my grandchildren, gardening, or being creative!
