This month, we’re celebrating two years since we brought together our workplace wellbeing services and our counselling arm, formerly known as Breathe. Since then, Platfform Wellbeing has grown significantly, supporting organisations across the UK to build healthier, more compassionate workplaces.
Since the merger, the organisation has worked with businesses and leadership teams across the UK to create healthier, more compassionate workplaces. Its services have expanded significantly, now supporting a wide range of sectors, including corporate businesses, educational institutions, and non-profits, helping them embed wellbeing into their workplace culture.
A core principle of Platfform Wellbeing’s approach is a long-term, preventative strategy for understanding mental health and wellbeing—focusing on sustainable change rather than reactive solutions.
As part of Platfform, a charity dedicated to sustainable mental health, the organisation was established to provide relationship-focused, person-centred support in the workplace. Over the past two years, it has offered expert-led consultancy, training on a range of topics, as well as supervision and reflective practice, equipping teams with the tools to focus on connection and psychological safety.
What began as a small counselling service has evolved into a team of over 85 professionals, including counsellors, psychotherapists, and workplace wellbeing specialists. In response to growing demand for face-to-face support, an additional premises was opened in Swansea to enhance accessibility in the region.
Pete Johnson, Commercial Director, reflects on this journey:
“Workplace wellbeing is not just about offering support when things go wrong; it is about creating environments where people feel valued, heard, and supported every day,” said Pete Johnson, Commercial Director. “A trauma-informed approach enables organisations to move beyond quick fixes and towards meaningful, lasting change.”
Organisations are recognising that real change starts with leadership. By equipping senior teams with the skills to lead with compassion in confidence, workplaces can shift from reactive support to a proactive, preventative approach.”
We are incredibly proud to celebrate this significant milestone of two years as Platfform Wellbeing. Our journey from a modest start in Cardiff to encompassing mental health and wellbeing support joins up with Platfform’s strategic vision for sustainable wellbeing for all”.
