Siobhan works for Platfform as Deputy Director of Children, Young People, Families and Community. In this role she is responsible for the strategic direction of Platfform’s work ensuring all our services align with the values and ambitions – providing the best possible support and creating new services that meet the needs of younger generations and their families. More recently her role also involves overseeing a UK partnership project, exploring community as a mental health intervention.
She has worked with children, young people and families for 22 years, starting as a play and youth worker. It’s always been a passion to remain curious and to see the world through the eyes of children and young people – ensuring we take great care of our future generations in Wales.
She has a degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Swansea University. She is a qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor and spent nine years working for Women’s Aid in various roles including Outreach and Community Services Manager. Her interest has always been around the impact of trauma, how we prevent and respond to this as a society and the hope of healing through therapeutic relationships and healthy communities. She also believe this extends to the workplace, and is passionate about creating workplaces, projects and teams that people enjoy being a part of and can develop as individuals who make a lasting impact!
When not at work she can be found driving her two kids to various different activities, spending time with family and dog Ralphie, listening to podcasts and music and sitting in her favourite chair thinking about life!
