Hello, I’m Sarah, and I am an accredited Systemic Counsellor, registered with the BACP and AFT. Systemic counselling means I look not only at what’s happening for you individually, but also at the influences of the people around you, and I help clients to identify entrenched patterns within their relationships with family, friends, and others.
In addition, I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) when it’s beneficial, which helps identify and work through unhelpful thinking patterns, and Narrative Therapy to explore the stories clients haven’t yet told, and how these have shaped the way they see the world around them. I also use Solution Focused Therapy when suitable, which helps clients recognise their own strengths and resilience, to create positive change for their future.
I believe we can all work towards change. I will provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to talk and be listened to. Through this, my clients become empowered and more aware of how to build healthier relationships, and gain different perspectives on their problems.
I have experience working with a range of client issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, and autism.
Outside of work I enjoy being near water, whether that’s walks along the beach or around city waterfront areas, spending time with family, socialising with friends, seeing music events, and going to ice hockey matches.
